Every dog has its day, they say. And for the all-American hot dog, that day is the Fourth of July. Here in Detroit, we salute the Coney, topped with mild chili, yellow mustard and pungent onions. But it’s not the only dog in town by a long shot. We went in search of dogs in other guises and found them dressed in myriad other costumes, from sweet slaws to spicy-hot peppers.
